Officer compensation on Form 990 Part IX is an aggregate line — it covers all current officers, directors, trustees, and key employees at a club in a single number, not individual salaries. A club with a large board and several named key employees will naturally show a higher total than a club with a leaner governance structure at the same revenue. For the largest clubs, the general manager alone may account for the majority of this figure. Clubs that report $0 indicate that their officers serve in a voluntary capacity — a common structure at smaller, member-run organizations. Individual pay by named employee, where reported, appears in Part VII of the raw IRS XML filing and will be surfaced here as our per-person data pipeline matures.
